Consecration of Archimandrite Augustine (McBeth) as Bishop of Taldom takes place in Paris

On 14th December 2025, Metropolitan Jean of Dubna, head of the Archdiocese of the Orthodox Churches of the Russian Tradition in Western Europe, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Rue Daru, Paris.
Concelebrating with Metropolitan Jean were Archbishop Simon of Brussels and Belgium and Bishop Symeon of Domodedovo.
During the Liturgy, Archimandrite Augustine (McBeth) was consecrated as Bishop of Taldom, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of the Orthodox Churches of the Russian Tradition in Western Europe.
Among those who attended the ceremony were Bishop Augustine’s relatives and numerous faithful from his parish – the Community of Archangel Gabriel in Glasgow.
The decision on the election of Hegumen Augustine (McBeth) as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of the Orthodox Churches of the Russian Tradition in Western Europe with the title “of Taldom” was adopted on 4th October 2025, during the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Archdiocese, and was approved by the resolution of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’, and the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on 30th October 2025 (Minutes No. 92). On 5th October 2025, Metropolitan Jean of Dubna elevated Father Augustine to the rank of archimandrite.
