Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations attends General Meeting of the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO

On December 23, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov chaired the General meeting of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.

Attending the meeting, which took place at the Foreign Ministry Manson in Moscow, were representatives of federal and regional authorities, workers of culture, scientists, educators, journalists, and members of traditional religious communities in Russia. Among the participants was a member of the Commission, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations.

In his remarks, Russian Foreign Minister told the audience about the present state of cooperation between Russia and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
