Representatives of the Hanoi and Nha Trang Committees on Nationalities and Religions visit St. Nicholas parish in Vietnam
DECR Communication Service, 22.12.2025.
On December 21, the 28th Sunday after Pentecost, representatives of the Hanoi and Nha Trang Committees on Nationalities and Religions and religious studies teachers visited the parish of St. Nicholas the Miracleworker in the city of Nha Trang, Vietnam.
The guests attended the Divine Liturgy celebrated by the parish rector, hegumen Micah (Selyakov), who said that the events in the church were met with great interest by them.
Father Micah told the delegation members about the Orthodox Church and its services. “They were surprised to learn that Orthodox Christianity is nearly two thousand years old and that the Divine Liturgy has remained unchanged since the 4th century. They noted that they had never seen anything like this before,” the rector said.
The Telegram channel of the Philippine‑Vietnamese Diocese reports that after the divine service, hegumen Micah had a talk with the committee representatives. Discussed were issues pertaining to the presence of the Russian Orthodox Church in Vietnam.
