DECR representatives meet with Ethiopian Ambassador to Russia

On December 22, with the blessing of Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), and at the invitation of H.E. Genet Teshome Jirru, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Russian Federation, DECR staff members, deacon Alexander Cherepenin and Mr. Sergei Alferov, visited the Ephiopian Embassy and were received by the head of the Ethiopian Diplomatic Mission in Moscow.
Attending the meeting was also Mr. Amare Dagnaw Warkie, the third secretary of the Embassy.
Several topical issues of mutual interest were discussed, including those pertaining to the development of relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.
