Telephone conversation held between the Primates of the Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches.

On 18^th December 2025 a telephone conversation took place between His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ Kirill and His Holiness the Patriarch of Serbia Porfirije.

His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije warmly greeted the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, expressing his sincere love for him and assuring him of his ardent prayers. His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije testified to the deep sympathy which throughout many centuries the Orthodox people of Serbia have felt in relation to their co-religionists the people of Russia. The pledge of this unshakeable friendship are the fraternal ties between the Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches.

In turn, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill thanked His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije and emphasized the importance of the spiritual unity of the two Churches and the peoples under their pastoral care, wishing the Serbian Patriarch good health and bodily strength and peace and prosperity for the Serbian people.

Also taking part in the conversation were the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Anthony and the metropolitan of Bačka Irinej.
