Representative of the Russian Orthodox Church participates in International Muslim Forum in Moscow.

On 15^th December 2025 there took place in Moscow the XXI International Muslim Forum entitled ‘Peace and Trust at a Time of De-Globalization: The Islamic View on Modern-Day Challenges’. The event was organized by the International Muslim Forum and the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of the Russian Federation.

Participating in the plenary session of the forum were: the chairman of the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of the Russian Federation, secretary general of the International Muslim Forum and chief mufti sheikh Ravil Gainutdin; deputy chairman of the Russian government M. Sh. Khunullin (online); aide to the chairman of the Russian government M.M. Khuchiev, the rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, chairman of the Russia and the Islamic World strategic vision group N. Minnikhanov; the chairman of the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Tatarstan mufti Kamil Samigullin; the head of the department for interaction with religious organizations under the presidential administration for internal policy Ye. V. Yeremin; the chairman of the Directorate for Religious Affairs in Turkey Doctor Safi Arpagush (online); deputy speaker of the parliament of Azerbaijan professor Rafael Baba ogli Gueseinov; the deputy chairman of the Directorate of Muslims of the Caucasus Faud Nurullaev; the director of the Foundation for Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education M.A. Gryaznov; political advisor to the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Doctor Mehdi Sanai, and other public figures and from various regions of Russia, Serbia, Iran, Tunisia, Kyrgystan, Tadjikistan, Uzbekistan and other countries.

At the plenary session the participants discussed issues of preserving cultural and religious stability, support for traditional spiritual and moral values and the strengthening of trust between various communities at a time when the processes of global integration are slowing down and of simultaneous increase in the formation of a multi-polar world.

With the blessing of the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Anthony attending the session was DECR representative for interreligious relations deacon Sergei Nestorov.

As part of the forum a round table was held dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the scholarly journal on theology called Islam in the Contemporary World, as well as the opening of two exhibitions entitled ‘The Islam in the Contemporary World Journal – Twenty Years’ and ‘Muslims in Defense of the Motherland’.
