Peter Anderson receives Patriarchal award

On 9th December 2025, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States and Canada, met with American public figure and publicist Peter Anderson. The meeting took place at St. Nicholas Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in Seattle. For his humanitarian activities and substantial contribution to inter-church cooperation and promotion of peace and friendship among nations, Mr Anderson received a high award of the Russian Orthodox Church – the Order of Glory and Honour, 2nd Class.
Having presented the award, Bishop Matthew conveyed to Mr Anderson kind regards from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and wished him help from God in his further efforts aimed at promoting inter-Christian dialogue. Peter Anderson expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill for such high commendation of his work and wished success to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church in his lofty and responsible service.
Present at the award ceremony were also Archpriest Vyacheslav Davidenko, Senior Priest of St. Nicholas Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in Seattle, Peter Anderson’s spouse, and Bishop Matthew’s personal secretary, Subdeacon Nikolai Trubnikov.
