Commission for Affairs of Old Believer Parishes and Interaction with the Old Believer Community holds session.

On 10th December 2025 there was held a session of the Commission for Affairs of Old Believer Parishes and Interaction with the Old Believer Community. The session was led by the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Anthony, who is also the commission’s chairman (minute no.114 of 13th October 2022).
Attending the event in the Lesser Hall of the DECR were metropolitan Jonathan (Yeletskikh), the metropolitan of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas George, the archbishop of Elista and Kalmykia Justinian, the archbishop of Homel and Zhlobin Stephan, the archbishop of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semipalatinsk Amphilochius, the bishop of Klintsy and Trubchevsk Vladimir, deputy chairman of the DECR archpriest Igor Yakimchuk and members of the commission.
The secretary of the commission and director of the Patriarchal Centre for the Old Russian Liturgical Traditions archpriest John Mirolyubov gave a report on the work carried out in 2025. Upon discussion of the report, it was decided that it would be presented for study by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The session also discussed issues related to the common service of the Old Believer (Co-Religionist) parishes under the Russian Orthodox Church.
The members of the commission examined the current state of dialogue with the Russian Orthodox Old Believer Church and discussed what steps could be taken to develop this dialogue further.
