A monument to Alexander Pushkin unveiled in Paris

On November 20, an official ceremony was held in the courtyard of the educational building of the Russian Spiritual and Cultural Orthodox Center in Paris to unveil a monument to the great Russian poet and writer Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.
In his welcoming address to those gathered for the opening of the monument to the genius of Russian literature, A.Yu. Meshkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the French Republic and concurrently to the Principality of Monaco, spoke on behalf of the Russian Embassy, reports the website of the Diocese of Korsun.
The ceremony was attended by Metropolitan Mark of Ryazan and Mikhaylov, Acting Administrator of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Western Europe, as well as of the Dioceses of Korsun and of Spain and Portugal, and of the parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy; K.E. Grushevsky, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Republic of Belarus in the French Republic; representatives of the diplomatic missions of CIS countries; A.I. Kotlova, Director of the Russian Spiritual and Cultural Orthodox Center; S.V. Zhilina, Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture; descendants of the poet; staff of the Russian Embassy; clergy of the Orthodox parishes of Paris; members of the Russian émigré community and French public figures; and representatives of the media.
