Church of the Protecting Veil at the Russian Embassy in Pakistan celebrates its patronal feast

On October 14, the Feast of the Protecting Veil of the Most Holy Mother of God, Archimandrite Alexander (Zarkeshev), rector of the Church of the Holy Apostle Philip in the United Arab Emirates, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Protecting Veil of the Most Holy Theotokos at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Islamabad, Pakistan, marking its patronal feast.

Among those attending the divine service were the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr A.P. Khorev, with his spouse, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr A.N. Metelitsa, with his spouse.

After the Litany of Fervent Supplication, Father Alexander read the prayer for the Holy Rus’.

After the Liturgy, Father Alexander warmly greeted the parishioners on the occasion of the patronal feast and presented to the church a set of priestly vestments in blue colour to be used on the feast days of the Most Holy Theotokos.
