Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission takes part in Sunday Liturgy in Nazareth

On October 12, the 18^th Sunday after Pentecost and the commemoration day of St. Cyriacus the Hermit of Palestine, Metropolitan Kyriakos of Nazareth, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth.

Concelebrating were Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, the Arabic-speaking clergy of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and deacon Makary Petukhov, a cleric of the Mission.

The choir of the Basilica of the Annunciation sang hymns of the Divine Liturgy. The service was celebrated in Greek, Church Slavonic and Arabic, the Mission’s website reports.

After the Divine Liturgy, a reception took place at the Metropolis of Nazareth building. Among those attending were His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III, Metropolitan Isychios of Capitolias, Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina, clerics of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, and invited guests. Archimandrite Vassian congratulated Metropolitan Kyriakos on his Nameday and presented him with memorable gifts. A repast for all the guests followed.
