DECR Chairman meets in Erbil with Director for the Preservation of Assyrian Cultural Heritage

On October 1, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, met with Mr. Kaldo Ramzi, Director General for the Preservation of Assyrian Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the Kurdish Autonomous Region of Iraq.

The parties discussed issues related to the study and preservation of the Christian heritage of Mesopotamia and its significance for biblical studies and Church history.

Afterwards, Mr. Ramzi gave the Russian guest a tour of the Assyrian Culture Museum, which opened in Erbil in 2014.
