Patriarchal exarch for South East Asia meets with representatives of the Indonesian ministry for religious affairs

On 24^th September 2025 the director of the Christian department of the ministry for religious affairs of Indonesia Mrs. Djin Mari Tulung, accompanied by the director for the Christian religions Amsala Joveia and workers from the department were greeted in the church of the Russian Orthodox Church in Indonesia, the episcopal metochion of the Church of Saint Vladimir in Bekasi.

The guests were greeted by the Patriarchal exarch for South East Asia the metropolitan of Singapore and South East Asai Sergius, the Russian ambassador to Indonesia S. G. Tolchenov, the auxiliary of the Singapore diocese the bishop of Jakarta Pitirim, the rector of the Church of the Holy Apostle Thomas Father Boris Setyavan and clerics of the metochion.

During the visit the guests became acquainted with the work and current life of the parishes of the Patriarchal exarchate of South East Asia. Metropolitan Sergius spoke in detail about the traditions of the Russian Orthodox Church and the peculiarities of upholding them within Indonesian society, reports the Telegram channel of the exarchate.

Both sides discussed various aspects of mutual interaction and the prospects of the further development of Orthodox parishes in Indonesia.
