DECR Chairman meets with academic delegation from Iran.

On 19th September, with the blessing of the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Anthony, there took place in Moscow a meeting between DECR representative hieromonk Gregory (Matrusov) and a delegation from the University of Religions and Confessions in Qom, Iran.
The delegation had come to Russia on a five-day visit at the invitation of the Representation Office of Culture and Islamic Ties of Iran. During the visit a meeting took place between the ambassador of Iran in Russia. They also visit the Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Moscow.
Hieromonk Gregory took the guests on an excursion of the Saint Daniel Monastery in Moscow, after which he delivered a lecture on the Russian Orthodox Church. At the request of the guests special attention was devoted to the spiritual experience of the lives of the Orthodox faithful. Father Gregory also acquainted the guests with the liturgical hymns of the Russian Orthodox tradition. The listeners showed great interest in the lecture.
