Palestinian volunteers offer relief assistance to Russian Ecclesiastical Mission’s Metochion in Hebron

On 21^st August, coenobites of the Metochion of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Hebron and volunteers from among the citizens of the Hebron Governorate and other regions of Palestine cleaned the grounds of the Metochion, which had earlier suffered from the arson attack.

The Russian Ecclesiastical Mission expressed deep gratitude to all the volunteers who took part in the relief efforts that help promote good relations between the Metochion coenobites and citizens of Hebron and uphold inter-confessional peace and concord. The clergy and monastics of the Russian Church serving in the Holy Land wholeheartedly thanked Dr Ramzi Khouri, Chairman of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, and Mr Khaled Doudin, Governor of Hebron, for their help and attention to the Metochion’s problem.

As the website of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission reports, “the charity efforts of the volunteers and the Hebron authorities indicate that good relations between our two nations are stronger than disagreements and constitute the best response to those who by their actions try to sow hatred and discord.”
