Memorial service for Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom) celebrated in Brompton Cemetery in London on 22nd anniversary of his death

On 4th August 2025, the 22nd anniversary of the passing away of Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom), the Sourozh Diocese clergy celebrated a memorial service at the burial place of the late hierarch in Brompton Cemetery in London.
With the blessing of Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, officiating at the requiem service was Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, secretary of the Sourozh Diocese. Among his concelebrants were Archimandrite Daniel (Davis), dean of the Diocesan District of Wales; Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, dean of the Diocesan District of South-East England; Archpriest Vitaly Polischuk, dean of the Diocesan District of South-West England; Archpriest Joseph Skinner; Archpriest Nicolae Prescura; Priest Lazar Jones; Priest Alexander Kapustin; Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and Protodeacon Ioann Sylnik.
The memorial hymns were performed by the choir of the Holy Dormition Cathedral in London, conducted by Dmitry Tugarikov, website of the Sourozh Diocese reports.
Attending the service were parishioners of the Holy Dormition Cathedral, Metropolitan Anthony’s spiritual children and people from various British cities and other countries who revere the late hierarch.
After the service, Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, the oldest cleric of the Dormition Cathedral, delivered a sermon, in which he shared with all those present some little known facts about the life of Metropolitan Anthony and various accounts of the miraculous help from the archpastor after his death.
Earlier that day, prayers for the repose of Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom) had been offered during the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Dormition Cathedral.
