Prayers of Thanksgiving offered up in the Holy Land on the Occasion of the Name’s Day of Patriarch Kirill.

On 24th May on the Day of the Holy and Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius the Evangelizers of the Slavs, and also the name’s day of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ Kirill, a prayer service of thanksgiving was held in the Trinity Cathedral in Jerusalem. The service was taken by the inmates of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem hieromonk Peter (Borodin) and Philotheos (Artyushin).
At the conclusion of the service “Many Years” was sung in honour of His Holiness the Patriarch, reports the website of the Russian Spiritual Mission.
On the name’s day of Patriarch Kirill festive services were held in the Gornei Convent in Ain Karem and in all of the churches of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem.
