Visit of the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church to Moscow concludes

On the evening of April 26, 2025, the visit of His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia to Russia came to an end.
The delegation accompanying the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church during his trip included: Archbishop Irinej of Novi Sad and Metropolitan of Bačka, Bishop Stefan of Remeziana, representative of the Serbian Patriarch to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’, Archimandrite Hariton (Pavlica), abbot of the Kovilj Monastery, Protopresbyter Georgije Stoisaљević, head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch, Protodeacon Radomir Vručinić, rector of Saint Sava Seminary in Belgrade, Protodeacon Radoica Žagran, Hierodeacon Justin (Živanić), a resident of the Kovilj Monastery, Deacon Ivan Vasilyevich, as well as subdeacons D. Nakić and V. Elič.
The visit began on April 21.
On April 22, a meeting took place between His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ and His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia at the Patriarchal and Synodal Residence in the Danilov Monastery in Moscow.
That same day, President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin met with the Primates of the Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches in the Kremlin.
On April 23, Patriarch Porfirije visited the Moscow representation of the Serbian Orthodox Church—the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul near the Yauza Gates. The following day, he visited the Donskoy Stavropegial Monastery.
Several members of the Serbian Orthodox delegation visited the New Jerusalem Monastery and the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery in the Moscow region on April 24.
On April 25, Friday of Bright Week and the feast of the Icon of the Mother of God "Life-Giving Spring," His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije visited the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius. In the Dormition Cathedral, the two Primates celebrated the Divine Liturgy.
That same day, in the Throne Hall of the Patriarchal Chambers of the Lavra, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill presented high awards of the Russian Orthodox Church to His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije and to the hierarch of the Serbian Church, Archbishop Irinej of Novi Sad and Metropolitan of Bačka.
A ceremonial awarding of an honorary doctorate diploma from the Moscow Theological Academy to Serbian Patriarch Porfirije took place in the academy’s assembly hall. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ attended the ceremony.
On April 26, His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia was seen off at Sheremetyevo Airport by: Metropolitan Grigoriy of Voskresensk, Administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate, Bishop Siluan of Pavlovo-Posad, his deputy, Bishop Stefan of Remeziana, representative of the Serbian Patriarch to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’, Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, advisor to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’, Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, deputy chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Hieromonk Theofan (Lukyanov), head of the DECR protocol service, as well as H.E. Momčilo Babić, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Serbia to the Russian Federation, G. Božić, Minister-Counselor of the Serbian Embassy, and V. Milović, Counselor of the Embassy.
