DECR chairman meets with Catholic Archbishop of Bari-Bitonto Giuseppe Satriano

On 15th February 2025, while on a work trip to Bari, Italy, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, met with the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bari-Bitonto, Guiseppe Satriano.
They were joined in the meeting by Archpriest Vyacheslav Bachin, rector of the Patriarchal Metochion of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Bari; Priest Giovanni Distante, prior of St. Nicholas Basilica in Bari; and staff members of the diocesan curia.
Archbishop Satriano warmly greeted Metropolitan Anthony, emphasising the importance of the visit of the Russian Orthodox Church’s hierarch to the city which is home to the relics of one of the most venerated saints in Christendom.
The participants in the meeting discussed various issues of mutual interest and exchanged memorable gifts.
Later that day, Metropolitan Anthony visited the Cathedral of Saint Sabinus.
