Diocesan council of Berlin and German holds session in Munich.

On 4th February a session of the diocesan council took place in the building of the south residence of the ruling bishop in Munich under the chairmanship of the administrator of the Berlin and German diocese the archbishop of Ruza Tikhon.
Before the session began a prayer service was held for the Exaltation of the Cross, which was served by the rector of the parish of the Resurrection in Munich archpriest Nikolai Zabelich with deacon Rostislav Ustimenko.
At the beginning of the session archbishop Tikhon spoke to the council members on the basic activities of the diocese in 2024.
Then the deans of the ecclesiastical districts gave reports on affairs in their deaneries. Archpriest Mikhail Dronov spoke about the work of the diocesan ecclesiastical court and the vicar abbot of the St. George monastery Father Daniel (Irbitz) spoke on the life and work of the house.
Yearly accounts on the work of the subdivisions of the diocese were given by the secretaries of the diocesan departments, reports the website of the diocese of Berlin and Germany.
The secretary of the diocesan department for work with young people Father Alexei Veselov gave a report on the results of the first West German congress of Orthodox youth of the Berlin and German diocese, which took place from 31st October to 3rd November 2024 in Hamburg. Archpriest Alexander Bertash, the diocesan expert on church cultural artifacts, reported on the execution of the resolution of the diocesan council of 2nd October 2023 on compiling Lives of the Saints and liturgical services for the Synaxis of the saints who had shone forth in the Land of Germany. The dean of the Hamburg ecclesiastical district spoke on how the resolution of the diocesan council on instructions on how to paint icons of German saints was fulfilled. Archpriest Mikhail Rar gave a report on the practice of receiving converts into Orthodoxy. Father Alexei Veselov was confirmed in his position as secretary of the liturgical commission.
At the conclusion of the session of the council issues concerning the life of the diocese and its parishes were discussed. The dates and venue for the diocesan assembly of the diocese of Berlin and Germany and the pastoral conference of the German dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church were decided upon.
