Patriarchal Exarch of South-East Asia attends meeting of Group of Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic World” in Kuala Lumpur

On December 11th, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia, Patriarchal Exarch of South-East Asia, took part in a meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision (GSV) “Russia – Islamic World” held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, under the chairmanship of the Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.
The topic of this year’s meeting was “Russia and the Islamic World: Cooperation in the Era of Emerging Multipolarity.” The GSV members discussed different issues of current importance, outlined the main aspects of further cooperation in political, economic, financial, humanitarian and cultural spheres, and highlighted principal tasks for the coming year. Among those who attended the meeting was Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim.
Taking part in the meeting were: Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan; Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia, Patriarchal Exarch of South-East Asia; Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil hazrat Samigullin; and Mr Rishat hazrat Khamidullin, head of the Huzur Publishing House of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan. Among those in attendance were also leaders of Muslim communities from the BRICS countries and the Asia-Pacific region, Telegram channel of the Patriarchal Exarchate of South-East Asia reports.
