Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia celebrates in Indonesia on St. Demetrius Ancestral Saturday

On November 2, St. Demetrius' Ancestral Saturday, Metropolitan Sergy of Singapore and Southeast Asia, Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia, celebrated the Divine Liturgy and a requiem service at the Bishops’ metochion of St. Vladimir’s church in Bekasi, the Republic of Indonesia. The day before, Metropolitan Sergy celebrated Matins and the great requiem service called parastas, the Exarchate's website reports.
The hierarch was assisted by clergymen of the church of St. Thomas the Apostle in Jakarta and of the metochion in Bekasi.
After the Divine Liturgy, a requiem service was celebrated for all Orthodox Christians who have died since the beginning of time.
At the end of the service, Metropolitan Sergy thanked all those who have come to the church to pray, delivered a sermon, and gave his archpastoral blessing to the worshippers.
