Report on church relief efforts in Kursk and Belgorod regions for 4th of September

The Marfo-Mariinsky Sisterhood in Belgorod received over five tons of humanitarian aid to assist affected civilians: hygiene products, household chemicals, blankets, and pillows. This aid has already begun reaching those in need who are daily turning to the Church's refugee assistance headquarters in Belgorod, located at the Marfo-Mariinsky Monastery, reports diakonia.ru

12,125 people have turned to the Church's comprehensive social assistance center at the Holy Trinity Monastery in Kursk since August 16.
On September 4th, 1,080 people (270 families) sought help at the Kursk church's comprehensive social assistance center. There is a high demand among the families for bedding, pillows, blankets, and folding beds.
Assistance packages containing household chemicals and food items were distributed to the families. Upon request, folding beds, bedding, blankets, mattresses, stationery, and 2 blood pressure monitors were also provided.
About one ton of pillows, blankets, bedding sets, and sweets was delivered to the Center from the humanitarian aid point at the Youth Department of the Kursk Diocese, and from the church in honor of St. Demetrius of Thessaloniki in Kursk – 300 food packages and 300 sets of household chemicals, diapers, and baby blankets.
Throughout the day, 29 volunteers assisted at the center.

Since August 7th, there have been 732 calls (4 on September 4th) on the hotline of the Synodal Department for Charity at 8-800-70-70-222 from the Kursk region.

660 people (220 families) from the Kursk region and 19 people (7 families) from the Belgorod region have contacted the Moscow refugee assistance headquarters at the Synodal Department for Charity since August 6th.
1,484 deliveries of aid have been received at the Moscow headquarters from churches, monasteries, and concerned citizens since August 6th.
On September 4th, 7 people (3 families) from the Kursk region sought help at the Moscow refugee assistance headquarters. Compared to the previous day, the number of families contacting the Moscow headquarters remained unchanged. All arrived at relatives or acquaintances. Humanitarian aid (food, hygiene products, household chemicals, school supplies) was provided to all families that sought assistance. Additionally, upon request, bedding, blankets, pillows, mattresses, and folding beds were delivered to refugees.

Since August 6th, 217 people from the Kursk region have sought help at the church's refugee assistance headquarters in Belgorod, located at the Marfo-Mariinsky Monastery.
On September 4th, 70 families sought help at the headquarters in Belgorod. Another 4 families contacted the hotline. A total of 166 people received humanitarian aid (food, hygiene products, bedding items, pillows, blankets, clothing): 142 from Belgorod and the border area, 16 from the Kharkov direction, 5 from the Donetsk People's Republic, Lugansk People's Republic, and Ukraine, and 3 from the Kursk region.

In three temporary accommodation points in the Kursk region, 5 volunteers from the Synodal Department for Charity are currently providing assistance.
