Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta attends a meeting of representatives of Christian organizations of Cambodia

On September 3, a meeting of representatives of Christian organizations of the Kingdom of Cambodia took place under the chairmanship of Mr. Chhua Sopan, State Secretary at the Ministry of Cults and Religion, head of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Taking part in the meeting with the blessing of Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and Southeast Asia, Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia and interim administrator of the Diocese of Thailand were Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta, vicar of the Diocese of Singapore; hieromonk Paisios (Ipate), dean of the Cambodian deanery of the Diocese of Thailand; and Mr. Matthew Kuoch Munnmony. Ms. Sofia Oborskaya, an employee of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Cambodia, helped with translation, the Exarchate’s website reports.

Discussed at the meeting were steps on consolidating unity among Christians and issues pertaining to cooperation with the national authorities.
