Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations meets with Slovenian Ambassador to Russia

On 30th August, at the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, DECR chairman, met with H.E. Ms Darja Bavdaž Kuret, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to the Russian Federation.

Having warmly greeted the Slovenian diplomat, Metropolitan Anthony told her about the historical journey of the Russian Orthodox Church and its present-day life and ministry.

The participants in the meeting discussed various complicated issues, including the situation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

The head of the Slovenian diplomatic mission was accompanied by the Embassy’s Minister-Counsellor, Mr Bernard Šrajner.

Taking part in the meeting was also Archpriest Sergy Zvonarev, DECR secretary for far abroad countries.
