A memorial service was held at the resting place of Soviet soldiers in Neunkirchen, Austria
On the 21 June 2024, a traditional international action "Garden of Memory" was held at the Soviet war grave in Neunkirchen (Austria) on the eve of the Day of Remembrance of Mourning, which is dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War.
The campaign was first held in 2020 and now takes place around the world from March to 22 June. Its goal is to plant 27 million trees in memory of each of the 27 million Soviet citizens who died during the Great Patriotic War.
More than three hundred Soviet citizens of different nationalities, who died during the liberation of Austria from fascism, as well as those who died in captivity, are buried at the site of the war grave.
With the blessing of Bishop Alexii of Vienna and Austria, Priest Vladislav Azeves, rector of the Church of the Archangel of God Michael in Laa an der Taia, took part in the commemorative event, according to the diocesan website.
A thanksgiving prayer service was also held at the burial site for the granting of victory in the Great Patriotic War. Then the priest served a requiem liturgy and addressed the audience with a word of sermon.
