Repair and restoration work begins in the flood-damaged St. Philip church in UAE

DECR Communication Service, 23.04.2024.
An abnormal storm with powerful downpours that hit the United Arab Emirates on 16 April 2024 damaged the Church of St. Philip the Apostle in Sharjah. Rainwater leaked into the church through the domes and roof.
On April 22, repair and restoration work in the church began with complete waterproofing of the roof and domes. The exterior painting will follow along with the cleaning of the damaged area, plaster work, and painting of the ceiling and walls inside the church.
The April natural disaster made the situation that came about on March 10 worse. Anomalous rainfall damaged the church and the cultural and educational center. Work on waterproofing and painting the roof began with the building of the center, thanks to which it is protected against the force of nature, whereas the church of St. Philip the Apostle needed extra money to pay for a special crane for working on the roof.
According to the parish website, the repair is expected to be completed by Pascha.
