First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad extends condolences for the victims of terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall
DECR Communication Service, 24.03.2024.
On 22 March 2024, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York addressed His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' with words of condolence for the victims of the terrorist attack at the concert hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow region.
“Having learned about the heinous attack on civilians in Moscow, I hasten to extend my deepest condolences to you, the archpastors, clergy, flock of the Russian Orthodox Church, and all the people of Russia,” wrote the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
Metropolitan Nicholas underscored: “At this time of mourning, our thoughts and prayers are with relatives and loved ones of the innocent victims and the injured. May the Lord bless the deceased with eternal rest and the injured with a speedy recovery.”
“Today, as we commemorate the miracle of the Great Martyr Theodore Tyron, who supported Christians in the hard time of persecution, we pray, hope and believe that through the intercession of this wondrous saint ‘the Lord will give strength to His people and bless them with peace’ (cf. Ps 29:11), helping our brothers and sisters in the Fatherland to overcome the consequences of this tragedy,” the condolence letter reads.
