On February 24, 2024, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, a pilgrimage of the clergy and parishioners of the Sourozh diocese took place to the revered copy of the icon of the Most Holy Mother of God Trojeručica (the “Three-handed Theotokos”) located in the Serbian Church of the Holy Prince Lazarus in Birmingham.
During the Divine Liturgy, Rector of the church, Archpriest Nenad Popović was assisted by clergy of the Sourozh diocese: Rector of the parish of All British Saints in Birmingham, Archpriest Michael Gogoleff, Priest Anatoly Vihrov, Protodeacon Philip Turner and Deacon Sergei Sokolovsky. Cleric of the Archdiocese of Orthodox parishes of Russian tradition in Western Europe, Priest Jonathan Cowley, also took part in the divine service.
At the end of the Liturgy, a moleben with akathist was served in front of the venerated icon of the Mother of God Trojeručica. After the divine service, Rector of the church, Father Nenad, addressed the pilgrims, telling about the history of the miraculous icon of the Most Holy Mother of God, located in the Hilandar monastery on Mount Athos, and about the miracles that had been occurring in front of the icon for 14 centuries.
Then the clergy, parishioners and pilgrims took part in a common meal.
