Secretary of the Thai Diocese and Minister of Culture of Thailand have a working meeting in Bangkok
On February 5, 2024, with the blessing of Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and Southeast Asia, Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia and interim administrator of the Thai diocese, archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), secretary of the Thai diocese, met with Mr. Sermsak Pongpanit, Minister of Culture of Thailand, reports the official Telegram channel of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia.
Attending the meeting were also archpriest Daniil Vanna, chair of the Orthodox Christian Church Foundation in Thailand (Moscow Patriarchate); Mr. Chaiphon Sukhaiam, director general of the Religious Affairs Department; Ms. Nalini Thaweesin, counselor to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand; Mr. Alexey Tyutin, a warden of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Bangkok; designated employees of the Government and of the Ministry of Culture of Thailand.
The participants discussed various issues regarding activities of the Orthodox community in Thailand; fundamentally important agreements were reached. At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged souvenirs.
