Bishop Pitirm of Jakarta meets with Russia’s Ambassador to Laos

On January 23, Bishop Piritim of Jakarta, temporary administrator of the Diocese of Thailand, visited Laos with the blessing of the Patriarchal Exarch of South-East Asia, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia.
During his visit, the archpastor met with Mr Vladimir Kalinin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Lao People's Democratic Republic. They were joined in the meeting by Mr Alexander Radkov, head of the Russian House in Laos. The issues under discussion pertained, in particular, to providing pastoral care to the Russian citizens residing in the country, Telegram channel of the Patriarchal Exarchate of South-East Asia reports.
Bishop Pitirim thanked Ambassador Vladimir Kalinin and Mr Alexander Radkov for their assistance in the matter of opening the Russian Orthodox Church’s parish in Vientiane – capital of Laos.
