Head of the Russian Spiritual Mission meets with the director of the Russian diplomatic mission in Palestine.

On 16th January the head of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev) held a meeting with the director of the Russian diplomatic mission in Palestine Gocha Levanovich Buachidze.
Attending the meeting were the secretary of the Russian Spiritual Mission abbot Nikon (Golovko) and the attache of the Russian diplomatic representation to the Palestinian National Authority Alia Kozhemyak, reports the press service of the Russian diplomatic mission.
Archimandrite Vassian and Gocha Buachidze exchanged greetings on the occasion of the Nativity of Christ and gifts. There was then held a constructive discussion of issues of the day tied to the Russian church presence on the West bank of the Jordan, including the problems of property ownership and church-diplomatic ties.
At the end of the meeting the representatives of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem and the Russian diplomatic mission in Palestine agreed to continue mutual cooperation on these issues by maintaining close and permanent contacts with each other.
