Zinaida Nosova, one of the most senior colleagues of the Department for External Church Relations, dies.

On 29th September 2023, aged eighty-one, colleague of the translation service of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Zinaida Ivanovna Nosova reposed in the Lord. She had dedicated more than fifty years of her life to the service of the Church.
Zinaida Ivanovna was born on 3rd February 1943 in the city of Nizhny Tagil. In 1946 her family relocated to Leningrad. Upon leaving secondary school, Zinaida Ivanovna went to Leningrad State University. After marrying, she moved to Moscow, where she graduated from the Institute of Foreign Languages and immediately after this she went to work at the Department of External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church.
On 21st June 1972 Zinaida Ivanovna was appointed by the then metropolitan of Tula and Belyov Juvenaly (Poyarkov) and chairman of the DECR to the translation bureau, the chief editor of which was Pavel Alexandrovich Kutepov, who was quick to value the high professional standards of the young translator.
Zinaida Ivanovna participated in the work of the World Council of Churches, various peace-making conferences, theological dialogues and international meetings. Upon her were bestowed the highest church awards, in particular the Order of Princess Olga 3rd Degree, the Order of Saint Euphrosyne of Moscow 3rd Degree, the Medal of the Holy and Righteous Prince Daniel of Moscow and other awards.
The Department for External Church Relations will feel the loss of their valued colleague Zinaida Ivanovna Nosova.
