Russian ambassador to Hungary visits a Russian Orthodox church under construction in Hévíz

On August 17, H.E. Yevgeny Stanislavov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Hungary, visited the church dedicated to “The Life-Giving Spring” icon of the Mother of God under construction in Hévíz.

Website of the parish reports that he was welcomed by Archpriest Nikolai Kim, rector of the church, who shown the Russian diplomat the building and told him about construction work. In June 2021 the church was crowned with a cupola with the cross, and on August 15, 2023, bells were lifted to the bell tower.

The construction of the church in the famous Hungarian spa town located near Lake Hévíz began in February 2020. The Government of Hungary has rendered considerable financial support to the Russian Church’s Diocese of Budapest and Hungary in restoring a number of several Orthodox churches in the country and assistance in constructing the church in Hévíz. The Hungarian Secretary of State for Churches, Minorities and Civil Affairs and Mayor of the city visited the construction site on several occasions.
