Session of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa takes place as part of the Russia-Africa Forum

On July 28, the panel session of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa on “Religious Component in the Development of African Countries in a Dynamically Changing World” was held as part of the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum in St.Petersburg.
Among those taking part in the session were Mufti Albir Krganov, head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia; H.E. Andrei Avetisyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United Republic of Tanzania; hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), secretary for inter-Christian relations of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations; Ms Anna B. Shafran, head of the Directorate of Analytical Radio Programs of the Zvezda Media Holding, a precenter of the TV channel ‘Spas’ and a member of the Council for Foreign and Defense Policy; Archpriest Dimitry Sizonenko, head of the International Department of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy; and Archimandrite Zachariah (Mulingva), a cleric of the Patriarchal Exarchate from Tanzania.
Metropolitan Leonid of Klin, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, served as moderator of the session and opened it by presenting a report on “Religious Component in the Development of African Countries in a Dynamically Changing World,” the Metropolitan posted in his Telegram channel.
