Litiya is celebrated at war memorial in Lozenets district of Sofia on the 82th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War

On June 22, which is marked as the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, Archpriest Yevgeny Pavelchuk, secretary of the Sofia Metochion of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, and deacon Alexander Morozov celebrated a requiem litiya at the monument to the soldiers fallen during the Great Patriotic War located in Lozenets district of the Bulgarian capital.

After the service, wreaths were laid at the monument of military glory and at the mass burial ground, website of the Metochion reports.

Attending the ceremony were Valentin Solodkin, chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Bulgaria; Nikita Leshukov, chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Bulgaria; T. Dudayev, director of the Russian Cultural and Information Centre in Sofia; Boris Gromov, director of the Moscow House; employees of the Embassy, and representatives of public circles. The ceremony ended with a minute of silence.
