Representatives of different confession will exchange experience in social ministry

On January 26, 2023, a Round Table on “Social Ministry of Religious Communities – Interconfessional Exchange of Experience” will take place at the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR) under the heading “Tradition. Dialogue. External Relations” as part of the 31st International Educational Christmas Readings.

Representatives of different confessions will talk about their best practices in social ministry, relief work including aid to the refugees; and methodology of supporting people with health restraints or finding themselves in a dire situation.

Archpriest Maksim Pletnev, head of the Coordination Centre for Fighting against Drug and Alcohol Addiction of the Department for Social Charity and Social Ministry of the St. Petersburg diocese will chair the meeting. Ms Margarita B. Nelyubova, a staff member of the DECR secretariat for inter-Christian relations and coordinator of the Round Table, will act as curator.
