Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta meets with compatriots residing in Laos’s capital city

With a blessing of the Patriarchal Exarch for South-East Asia and Administrator of the Diocese of Thailand, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia, Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta met on August 14 with expatriates residing in Vientiane, the capital city of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

The meeting took place at the Russia House in Vientiane with the support of the leader of this establishment Ms. Z. V. Letifova.

His Eminence Pitirim celebrated a thanksgiving. During the talk that followed, the archpastor spoke about the history of the establishment of the Patriarchal Exarchate for South-East Asia and answered questions about God and the Church and the main feasts of the Orthodox Church.

As the Exarchate’s website reports, in conclusion of the meeting, His Eminence Pitirim, as a token of the meeting, presented each participant a small icon of the Saviour ‘The Image Not Made with Hands’ with an inscribed blessing from Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia.
