***
The church of Elijah the Prophet at the former Novgorod metochion is one of the oldest Moscow churches. Ilyinka street in Kitai-Gorod was named after it in the 16th century. The church changed its external architectural character several times and in the 19th century has become a part of the ensemble of the Trading Rows that were called ‘warm rows’ because they were heated.
