Archbishop Nestor of Madrid and Lisbon blesses chapel in the south of Portugal

On 28 August 2021, the feast day of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, Archbishop Nestor of Madrid and Lisbon celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Quarteira, Portugal. Concelebrating with the archpastor were Archpriest Ioann Gerbovetsky, dean of the parishes in Portugal, Archpriest Aleksandr Torik, deacon Gleb Zayika, and deacon Aleksei Chesnokov.

Before the Liturgy, Archbishop Nestor celebrated the Lesser Blessing of the recently built chapel in honour of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God and Ever Virgin Mary.

Prayer before the ambo and dismissal being over, the Procession with the Cross was held, after which the hierarch greeted the clergy and parishioners.

Archbishop Nestor of Madrid and Lisbon presented an icon of the Mother of God for the chapel. Clergy and parishioners had a talk with their hierarch during fraternal repast.
