Attempt to set fire to a chapel of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Zaporozhe

During the night of August 6, 2021, unknown people set fire to the Chapel of Ven. Peter Kalnyshevsky in Zaporozhe.
Rector of the parish Rev. Ioann Yurtsun told to the Union of Orthodox Journalists website that the fire started around 3 o’clock a.m. An air-fuel container, coals for firing and a lighter found at the scene point to an arson. The unknown people set fuelwood and sticks at the chapel door, poured a combustible over the pile and burn it.
‘Just a five or ten minutes later, a chap, a casual passer-by, walked nearby. He threw off the firewood, quickly pour sand on the already blazing pile and called firefighters. The brigade came promptly and extinguished it all.
A statement on this fact was given to the police.
