DECR deputy chairman attends opening ceremony of I.A.O. 28th General Assembly
Today, the I.A.O. unites over twenty states. Russia joined the organization in 1994. The delegation of the RF Federal Assembly to the 28th I.A.O.Assembly is led by Mr. Sergei A. Gavrilov, President of the I.A.O. and chairman of the State Duma Committee for development of civil society and affairs of public and religious organizations.
At the opening ceremony the participants heard greetings from statesmen and religious leaders.
Archbishop Leonid of Vladikavkaz and Alania, deputy chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, read out a message of greetings from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
