Gorny Convent in Jerusalem celebrates its dedication day
On July 3-4, 2021, the feast of All the Saints Who Shone Forth in the Land of Russia, the Gorny Convent celebrated the dedication day.
The All-Night Vigil and the Divine Liturgy were celebrated in the Cathedral of All the Saints Who Shone Forth in the Land of Russia by Archimandrite Alexander (Yelisov), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, together with hieromonk Innokenty (Bespalov), a cleric of the Convent, hieromonk Pavel (Kuznetsov), a cleric of the Kazan Metropolia, and deacon Ilia (Drachuk), a cleric of the Mission.
Taking part in the festivities were hegumeness Varvara (Novikova), mother superior of the Convent of the Ascension on the Mount of Olives, sisters of the abode, and many parishioners fr om different cities of Israel and Palestine.
Attending the Divine service was Mr. Yuri A.Romashuk, administrator of the Pilgrim House of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Bethlehem.
The Liturgy being over, solemn procession with the Cross, readings from the Gospel, and sprinkling of the worshippers with Holy Water were held.
Many Years was proclaimed before the ambo in the Cathedral, and Archimandrite Alexander congratulated the worshippers.
Also, he presented a Patriarchal diploma to Mr. A.Romashuk in consideration of his zealous work for the good of the Holy Church and in connection with his 50th birthday. Hegumeness Yekaterina (Chernysheva), mother superior of the Gorny Convent, expressed gratitude to Archimandrite Alexander and presented him with a holy prosphora.
Clerics, sisters and parishioners proceeded to the Church of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God, wh ere the choir sang sticheras to the Russian saints, and Archimandrite Alexander offered up a prayer.
Celebrations were concluded by festive repast.
