A community of Ukrainian Orthodox Church victimized by ‘OCU’ raiding builds a new church
On June 23, 2021, a new church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonder-Worker and blessed at the Sestryanin village, Radivilov district. It has been built instead of the church captured by the ‘OCU’ raiders, reports the website of the Union of Orthodox Journalists with reference to the Diocese of Rovno’s page in Facebook.
With a blessing of Metropolitan Varfolomey of Rovno and Ostrog, the blessing of the church was conducted by Bishop Pimen of Dubno.
The Sestryanin community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was deprived of their church in 2019 as a result of capture by raiding. At that time, a few dozens of ‘OCU’ supporters, having enlisted the support of activists from neighbouring settlements, took away the church of St. Nicholas the Wonder-Worker. For some time, the faithful of the canonical Church had to worship at a specially adjusted facility but since it was an asset of the local farm and they had to leave it.
