UOC Chancellor meets with Metropolitan Silouan of Mount Lebanon
On June 17, 2021, the last day of his official visit to the Orthodox Church of Antioch, Metropolitan Anthony of Borispol and Brovary, Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church met with Metropolitan Silouan of Mount Lebanon.
In the course of the conversation, which took place at the Metropolitan Silouan’s working resident in Brummana, Metropolitan Anthony greeted His Eminence Silouan on behalf of His Beatitude Onufry, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, and informed him about today’s life of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
In an open fraternal talk, they discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda of inter-church interaction, as well as challenges facing the world Orthodoxy today.
Metropolitan Silouan made a special mention of the importance of Metropolitan Onufry’s service as Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, his humbleness and firmness in defending the canonical purity of Orthodoxy.
They were joined in their talk by Archpriest Nikolay Danilevich, head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s department for external church relations, and Archimandrite Anthony (Bitar), manager of the Metropolis of Mount Lebanon.
On the same day, the delegation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church flew out to Kiev.
