Clergy of the Argentine Diocese met with the Patriarchal Vicar of the Antiochian Orthodox Church in Rio de Janeiro
On June 9th, 2021, on the eve of the feast of the Ascension of the Lord, the rector of the church of St. Zinaida of Rio de Janeiro Hegumen Innokenty (Denshchikov) had a meeting with the Patriarchal Vicar of the Orthodox Church of Antioch in Rio de Janeiro, Bishop Theodore Ghandour. The meeting was also attended by the cleric of the church of St. Zinaida priest Roman Kunen.
Hegumen Innokenty congratulated Bishop Theodore on the feast of the Ascension of the Lord and gave Vladyka a commemorative icon as a gift.
Bishop Theodore, in turn, congratulated the guests on the upcoming Jubilee of the Argentine Diocese and, in particular, said: “I take this opportunity to congratulate Bishop Leonidas on the 75th anniversary of the formation of the Argentine and South American Diocese. We pray that the Lord God will be merciful to the Orthodox Church throughout the world, and especially to the blessed Russian Orthodox Church: to all her priests, deacons, subdeacons and monks who serve in South America! "
