Seminar for clergy held in the City of Davao

On March 23-24, a seminar on the Lenten divine services was held for the clergy of the Davao Deanery of the Russian Orthodox Church’s diocese of the Philippines and Vietnam.

After the trainings, Rev. Moses Kagilik and Deacons Ambrose Sumagaysay and Nicholas Salgado together with Hieromonk Kornily (Molev) performed the full daily circle of the Lenten divine services completing it with the Vespers of the Presanctified Gifts.

The Russian Orthodox Church gives young promising Philippians an opportunity to receive a high quality theological education both in an education center in the City of Davao and in theological schools in Russia. The Church has played in no small part in the cultural exchange between Russia and the Philippines. In cooperation with the administrations of educational institutions and localities, the Church has taken part in folk festivals and organized culturological lectures, youth summer camps and charitable concerts of professional singers from Russia, thus introducing local people to the Russian culture.
