Archbishop Innokenty of Korsun consecrates an Orthodox church in Ravenna
In the course of his pastoral visitation to Italy, Archbishop Innokenty of Korsun, administrator of the Russian Orthodox parishes in that country performed on October 18 the Lesser Consecration of the church of the Intercession in Ravenna. In this address to the congregation, which consisted of over 250 people, the archbishop pointed to the historic nature of the event and its exclusive importance for Orthodoxy in Italy.
The building of the church, which used to belong to the Roman Catholic Church, was purchased for the Russian Orthodox community through the efforts of Archimandrite Mark Davitti, the rector of the parish in Bologna, the oldest cleric of the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy.
