Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk takes part in the 22nd St. Andrew the-First-Called International Prize for Faith and Faithfulness Award Ceremony
On 13 December 2014, the State Kremlin Palace hosted the 20th Award Ceremony of the St. Andrew the-First-Called International Prize for Faith and Faithfulness.
Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, read out greetings from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to the organizers, participants and guests.
Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras, the Orthodox Church of Greece, Alexander Boroda, president of the Federation of the Jewish Communities of Russia and founder of the Jewish Museum and the Centre of Tolerance; Ms Elizaveta Glinka, executive director of the Fair Aid International Public Organization; Ms Yelena Mizulina, chair of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children; Academician Yevgeny Primakov, President of the ‘Mercury Club’; Mr. Alexei Novgorodov, head of the special operation unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs; and Prof. Viktor Strelets of the Timiryazev Russian State Agrarian University.
The prizes were presented by Mr. Yakunin, president of the Board of Trustees of the Centre of National Glory and of the St. Andrew the-First-Called Foundation; Metropolitan Vladimir of Omsk and Tara; and cosmonaut Oleg Atkov, Hero of the Soviet Union and head of the Prize Committee.
