His Holiness Patriarch Kirill chairs session of the Supreme Church Council

On 25 July 2017, a regular session of the Supreme Church Council of the Russian Orthodox Church began its work at the Hall of the Supreme Church Council at the Church of Christ the Saviour in Moscow under the chairmanship of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

His Holiness opened the meeting and delivered an address on the main item of the agenda – mission among the youth.

The agenda also includes such topics as the implementation of the resolutions of the Supreme Church Council of the Russian Orthodox Church and of the Bishops’ Council as well as some others.

The Supreme Church Council chaired by His Holiness the Patriarch consists of:

Metropolitan Varsonofy of St. Petersburg and Ladoga, chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate;
Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations;
